The Wilbers Stabiliser Kit *Harley-Davidson* for Touring models from 2011 onwards puts an end to " wobbling" at higher speeds. "Come on the swing, Louise" sang the great Hans Albers (actor and singer) in the famous film "Auf der Reeperbahn nachts um halb eins" in 1954. He certainly wasn't referring to your Touring Harley-Davidson. But it is precisely the rocking, or rather the rocking up, that is an unsightly affair at higher speeds. This phenomenon occurs from around 160 km/h and can be very dangerous for you, your motorbike and other road users. The Wilbers Stabiliser Kit *Harley-Davidson* provides a remedy and safety. Small kit - big effect!
And that's why:
The Harley Touring models from 2011 onwards are designed in such a way that a thru axle connects the engine/transmission and swingarm. This thru axle is fixed in the frame via rubber bearings. This reduces vibrations, but with negative consequences at higher speeds:
- During load changes, engine vibrations can be transferred to the frame via the swingarm, which leads to vibrations throughout the motorbike
- The higher the speed, the stronger the vibrations
- In addition, the fact that the front engine mount is not adjustable means that the engine/swingarm unit may not be correctly aligned, resulting in a track offset from the rear wheel to the front wheel
- Rubber-mounted swingarm inserts, right and left side for replacement

After installing the components, the distance from the centre of the upper fastening screw of the rear shock absorbers to the centre of the lower fastening screw of the shock absorbers is measured and compared. If there is a difference between the right and left side, the vehicle has a track offset. This is then adjusted using the engine stabiliser (see installation instructions).

The Wilbers Stabilizer Kit was developed to minimise or eliminate severe suspension unbalance at top speeds. If there is no significant suspension unbalance, we advise against prophylactic installation.
The reason for this is that the installation creates a stiffening effect between the engine/frame and swingarm. This can cause you to notice the engine vibrations more clearly and disturbingly.
Therefore: please only install if problems actually occur.
