The history of the publisher Bruckmann Verlag dates back to 1858. The company was founded by Friedrich Bruckmann in Frankfurt as a "publishing house for art and science".Five years later, in 1863, the up-and-coming business relocated to Munich's Nymphenburger Strasse. The firm quickly made a name for itself with outstanding works dealing with art and cultural history. The books produced on the firm's own printing machines were of an unprecedented print quality, and by the end of the 20th century the Bruckmann name had become a mark of quality, particularly for glossy art books. In 2003 Bruckmann added the magazine "Motorrad ABENTEUER" to its portfolio, so extending its successful range to include the subject of motorcycles.
