VAB-6 Sympatex
The Vanucci *VAB-6* has repeatedly proven itself as a very good touring motorbike boot. The full-grain, hydrophobic cowhide and the water-repellent and flexible PU synthetic fabric play a large part in this. In combination with the Sympatex climate membrane, which protects your feet from water and wind but is breathable at the same time, hardly anything can happen to your feet while on the move. The special zip and hook-and-loop fastener construction allows for perfect calf adjustment. And you’ll notice this special level of comfort as soon as you step into the boot for the first time and adjust it precisely. The Michelin touring sole, which were specially developed for the *VAB-6* also lets you master the way to points of interest very well.

Good to know:
Your breathable boots are wind and waterproof. However, the boots are only breathable if you have functional socks on your feet. While cotton socks retain moisture, functional socks transport sweat and moisture away from the foot and into the shoe. The breathable shoe membrane then works there and transports the moisture completely out of the shoe, ensuring breathability.

The membranes are manufactured from different base materials, depending on the brand, and are made either as a loose "liner", as a laminate (bonded to the outer material), or as a coating on a carrier material.
The SympaTex membrane is made of polyester, and transports water vapour molecules outwards by means of chemical reactions. Different materials are tailored to the various applications in the field of motorcycle clothing.
All climate membranes are sensitive to mechanical damage: if a membrane is pierced, clearly it can no longer provide protection. Damage can also result from the use of inappropriate washing agents. Softeners, including those contained in detergents, damage the membrane irreparably!
